Xiaohe straight street, old city life of Hangzhou people

Photo: Xiaohe straight street.

The houses on Xiaohezhi Street are original old houses, with few renovations, white walls and black tiles, wooden doors and wooden windows, and a strong atmosphere of life. The white wall and the tiled house stood quietly. There are no visitors coming and going, and there is no wine and green light. 80% of the people here live in the old Hangzhou, and they are content in this lost silence.

The neighborhood is perfect for taking pictures, and bring your TA to show your skills!

Hangzhou’s famous “Old Sauce Garden” is also on this street. The Fang Zengchang Sauce Garden, once famous in the local area, is a workshop for making soy sauce, old wine and pickles. According to the local elderly, the saucehouse has a high counter, and the right half of the facade has three or four tables for local residents and past guests to drink old wine. The sauce garden has been open from the morning until 10 o'clock in the evening, and the local people like to drink the night wine.

Xiaohe Zhijie Historical and Cultural District

· Xiaohezhi Street Historic District is located at the intersection of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Xiaohe River and Yuhangtang River. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, it was the water and land distribution center of North and South goods, and developed into an independent commercial street in the Qing Dynasty. It is very prosperous, with incubators, wine cellars, rice shops and warehouses. · Now the houses on the street are original old houses, rarely renovated, and still live a lot of "old Hangzhou", white walls and black tiles, wooden doors and wooden windows, and a strong atmosphere of life. · It is recommended to look for Fang Zengchang Sauce Garden on the 15th of Xiaohezhi Street, and make a big picture of the word “sauce”. It is said that it was once the largest pickle factory in Xiaohe District. · There are many cafes, tea bars, mahjong halls, noodle restaurants along the way, find a small tea shop opened by local residents, and you can visit the quaint little house inside the house.

Qiaoxi Historical Street, China Grand Canal Cultural Heritage

Picture: Bridge West Historic Street.

The area around the west of the bridge is the ancient buildings of the Jiangnan water town. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this area was called the “Beiguan Night Market”. Because of the convenient transportation of the canal, the six lines (rice line, fish line, paper line, liquor line, firewood line, foreign line) ), the six museums (smoke halls, teahouses, theaters, restaurants, gambling halls, shacks) are all built along the river, known as "small Shanghai", attracting a variety of people.

1 Three big dwellings: In the same place, Ruyili, Jingshengli
[the same origin ]
is east-west, 220 meters long, and the pavement is paved with slate. The house is made of brick and wood, the walls are made of bricks, and the roof, doors and windows are made of wood. There is a particular emphasis on the door of the house. First, it is very wide, about 60 cm. One is beautiful, the second is to avoid the rain, and there are stone steps under the armpit, 20 cm above the ground. At the time of construction, the owner considered that there was water in the terrain when it rained, and the water would enter the door to wet the feet, so there was such a construction.

[Ruyi] The
Ruyi residential community, the layout is also east-west. Its architectural style is typical of the old Shikumen Lane building, the details of the doors and windows, the sculptural style, Ruyili is one of the earliest Chinese and Western styles of the Lanes in Hangzhou, and it is the west wind of Hangzhou. Witness, precious.

[King Shengli]
Jingshengli is considered to be the most emotionally-loving residential group in the three courtyards. According to legend, a wealthy businessman named Wu was built during the Republic of China. At that time, he was doing business here and found it here. The people were very poor, and some even could not afford to live in the house. He moved his compassion and built three rows of such houses, which were rented out to the people at very cheap prices.
Don't look at this cheap renting house, but when I built this house, I also had a lot of attention. The second floor was a low-rise loft, a tiger window, and a wooden staircase. There are 5 units on one side of the wall, one wall to open two gates, the door is Shikumen, the door frame is made of solid blue stone, and a solid cyanite is placed under the threshold to make steps, double black wooden doors, facing away.
The four corners of the building are flying rafts, and there are paintings in the middle. The wooden boards have beautiful patterns, which are simple and interesting.

Xiqiao Street

Qiaoxizhi Street is one of the quiet places in Hangzhou. From the Canal Square to the west, cross the arch bridge. Turn left and walk south along the canal to the west of the bridge. This is a quiet alley. The slate-paved roads are lined with street-side white-walled tiles in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are many bookstores, tea houses, cafes, creative shops and several special museums. On the side is the canal, and it is very sensation to light up at night. Because it is a place developed in recent years, there are not many people, quiet and cool. Come here to listen to the sound of the river beat the stone ridge, the mood will calm down, very comfortable.

The arched bridge 丨 the southern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal

Figure: Arch Bridge.

The arch bridge was built 370 years ago and was built as the "first bridge in the south of the Yangtze River". For more than a thousand years before this, there was no specific sign warning for the entry of cargo ships into Hangzhou. The appearance of the arch bridge has finally made the southern end of the Grand Canal a geographical indication.

Arch bridge

The arch bridge is connected to Lishui Road and Taizhou Road in the east, and to the bridge street in the west. Even Xiaohe Road is the tallest and longest stone arch bridge in the ancient bridge of Hangzhou. The bridge is 98 meters long and 16 meters high. The middle section of the bridge is slightly narrower at 5.9 meters wide, while the bridges at both ends are 12.2 meters wide. The three-hole thin-decked arched hump bridge has a net span of 11.9 meters, a middle hole of 15.8 meters, and a vaulted stone thickness of 30 centimeters. The wooden pile foundation structure is used, and the arch vouchers are juxtaposed in longitudinal sections. This is a very comprehensive bridge. Standing on the bridge, it feels like history is like a river flowing; it is also the starting point of the southern section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

Xiangji Temple | Thousand Years Ancient Temple with Gods

Picture: Xiangji Temple.

The only temple in China that is dedicated to the god of food, the old pilgrims devoutly succumb to the "head incense" on the Xiangji Temple. This place is a must for believers to go to Lingyin and Tianzhu to the mountains, and has a high status in the canal and the Buddhist community in Hangzhou.

Xiangji Temple

The old name of Xiangji Temple is Xingfu Temple, and later named by Song Zhenzong, “Xiangji Temple”. It used to be a famous temple in the Hushu area of the Grand Canal. It was the busy ship on the Grand Canal. It was the first temple to enter Hangzhou through the canal and the last temple to leave Hangzhou. It is also a Buddhist believer from Hangjia Lake to Lingyin and Tianzhu. She must go to the mountains to enter the incense, so she has a high status in the canal and the Buddhist community in Hangzhou. Xiangji Temple was destroyed in the war at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in 2009. The original east and west towers are now only the West Tower. The stone is eight-sided and nine-story imitation wood-like pavilions. The tower body is collected layer by layer. Except for the second-level railings with bluestone, the rest are constructed by lake and stone. In the style of the Mi, each layer is composed of a flat seat, a tower body and a tower tower. The tower ends with a tower brake, and the brake top is made of a treasure gourd, a Buddha statue or a scripture. His armpits are five-step double-turned, and the corners are seven-step three-turn. The tower is carved in the center of each side, and the sides are embossed. The temple looked small outside, but after entering it, it was not small. There were many laymen who were chanting and there were free incense for everyone to enter. It is worth mentioning that his family's plain noodles are considered to be more famous in Hangzhou. When one end comes up, the aroma is tangy, and a chopsticks will eat a fine light.

Dadou Road | The historic district where bustling and fading remains

Picture: Big road.

There is a poem saying this - "Shili Yinhushu, big pocket two or three miles", do you understand? In the past, Gongshu was called Hushu. This poem is mainly about the beautiful scenery of Hushu. There are two or three miles of roads to this big road.
Dadou Road was once an important trade center in the north of Hangzhou. It still retains the stone tower of Xiangji Temple, the former site of the national factory silk storage warehouse, and a large number of residential buildings in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.

Picture: Big road.

The picture above is the national factory silk storage warehouse. This warehouse is called Renhe Cang in the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the “first warehouse in the world” and is the second warehouse of the country in Zhejiang. Why is it the first warehouse, mainly because of its geography? The superiority of the location, the usage rate is very high, and many bulk goods have to be stored here. It has now been converted into a hotel.

Dadou Road Historic District

Dadou Road Historic District is located on the east bank of the section from the Daguan Bridge to the Jiangsheng Bridge. Up to now, it has preserved the stone tower of Xiangji Temple, the national factory silk storage warehouse, and a large number of residential buildings in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It is one of the remaining historical districts of Hangzhou's old city. It is also a historical block. The food is concentrated in the southern section, close to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The building uses Ming and Qing styles and brings together many high-end restaurants.

Fu Yi Cang | The richest granary in the world

The rice used in Hangzhou during the Qing Dynasty was stored in Fuyicang, "Southern Xincang in the north and Fuyicang in the south". The granary has a total of 13 buildings and has a history of 100 years.

Fu Yi Cang Ruins Park

Fuyi warehouse was built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was named "to the rich and the right to the right". The rice used in Hangzhou in the past was shipped from the canal and stored in Fuyicang. It was also called “the world granary” with Beijing’s Nanxincang, and “there was a new warehouse in the north and a Fuyi warehouse in the south”. There are a total of 13 buildings in the granary. The No. 1 building of the main gate is facing the canal of the canal. The door is painted with red paint in the mouth of the "socialist Dazhai". The door frame was built at the end of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of 100 years. The words were written in the 1960s and are preserved as original.

Some of the business can live in seclusion, Chevrolet, like the flower theme can live in the flower garden, this one I live in is the theme of travel photography: Canal House (Riders B&B).
